Crossroads of wood culture

Last summer, in July we received a e-mail from Gilles Lecha, a woddenwork master from the Barcelona Maritime Museum. Gilles had been in Ovar in 2009 talking and teaching his restauration tecniques of a classic Dragon, the boat design by J. Anker back in the 1920`s. Since we have a same class boat at CENARIO, originaly named "Snude" and now  "Brisa", a boat that raced at the olimpic games in 1952, we invited Gilles to come here for a couple of days...
But as I was saiyng, we received an e-mail from Gilles telling us that a group of people from the International Wooden Culture Society were interested in visiting us. So they did, and as result they joined us in a sailing trip to Torreira and they made a video about their visit to Barcelona and Ovar. You can visualize it here :

"Sailing Through History with Leisure Boats"

Planning our procedures and our lives is very important, but as important is to be receptive and to get involved with unplanned and surprise encouters. That´s how I met Gilles and Pillar, from Barcelona, at a boat meeting in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. That is why we met the IWCS people, from Taiwan.
